Neck pain is a very common diagnosis that affects tons of people of all ages. There is no one cause of neck pain, yet it can come in many forms. Sometimes it will cause you to have pain when you turn your head, look up or down. Neck pain can also cause pain that goes down the arm or upper back.
The majority of cases can be resolved with a course of physical therapy. Muscle strains, disc herniations, nerve impingement all can cause symptoms in the neck region and can be successfully improved with the correct treatment. Try not to rush to your orthopedist for an X-Ray or MRI. In most cases, a physical therapist is a great first option.
