Shin splints are a very common condition in many runners and walkers. Pain can be located either in the front of your shin or the inner side of the lower leg extending down around the inner ankle bone. In acute circumstances, it is a common overuse injury that can occur when the muscles of the lower leg are not prepared for the type of training that is being performed and become irritated and inflamed. In a more persistent or chronic situation, the pain is not likely due to inflammation but more so a change in the tissue makeup and capacity. Both situations, acute and chronic, can be addressed with physical therapy treatment program and resolved with time.

The therapists at Infinite Potential have the ability to develop a program that will effectively address your symptoms and start you on the road to pain-free legs. They will also help grade your current activity level to keep you at the gym or on the road so you do not miss out on your fitness routine.
